Ever since moving out on my own, I've been drawn to things that represented the desert. Native American prints, cactus, adobe have adorned my homes in the form of wall art, bed spreads, even dish towels. I could never put my finger on what it was about that aesthetic that was drawing me. Then, not too long ago, a random visit to the desert with friends fully awakened whatever that was inside me. Within three months, I'd made several trips back, found a place to live and moved to the Mojave. I didn't know anyone, but have found a community of artists and activists ripe with interesting, inspiring and amazing women. I want to share their stories and experiences with other women, of all generations, to show that life is not an 'A' to 'B' proposition and, like a desert sidewinder, there's going to be some 'zig-zag' - and that's ok, as long as you're living your truth... living authentically.
